Commissioning of the PtL pilot plant from INERATEC
INERATEC starts production of e-fuels in Frankfurt. An important milestone for our RePoSe project

The commissioning of INERATEC's Power-to-Liquid (PtL) pilot plant in Frankfurt marks an important milestone for the RePoSe project. The first quantities of climate-neutral e-fuels are now being produced - a visible step forward on the road to sustainable aviation.
We had the opportunity to visit the facilities on site and see the progress in person. The start of operations is particularly important for RePoSe, as the production that has now begun forms the basis for key research questions.
In the funding project RePoSe (Real-time Power Supply for e-fuels), we are researching how the fluctuating availability of renewable electricity affects the production of PtL fuels. As electricity from the sun and wind is not continuously available, hydrogen storage is needed as a buffer for PtL production. The RePoSe project is calculating how large these need to be and investigating them.
RePoSe is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) with around 3.4 million euros as part of the overall concept for renewable fuels. The Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas (HMWVW) is co-financing the project with up to 1.25 million euros.
Together with our project partners INERATEC, Fraunhofer IWKS, Fraunhofer LBF and Provadis University of Applied Sciences, we are pleased to be part of the joint mission to bring sustainable e-fuels to the market.
